Work History: I served previously at five different Lutheran schools in Detroit, the Chicago suburbs, upstate New York, rural Illinois and Fort Wayne, IN. My early working career was in food services management.

Years at SPLS: I am completing my tenth year as principal at SPLS.

Favorite Scripture: The whole of Isaiah 53.

Why are you drawn to/continue in ministry at SPLS?: As we reach out in mission and discipleship training I see daily the impact we have on the lives of students and their families.

What do you love about Lakeland/central Florida?: We have come to enjoy the people most of all (students, church and school co-workers, parents and families, St. Paul Lutheran parishioners).

Family Info or Interesting Fact about You: Mrs. Boyd and I have been married over 40 years and have four amazing sons, two daughters-in-law, and the best little granddaughter ever. I enjoy music, vintage cars, and up-cycling furniture.

Work History: I worked 11 years in the advertising department for The Ledger Media Group.

Years at SPLS: I am on my fifth year here at St. Paul Lutheran School.

Why you are drawn to/continue in ministry at SPLS?: The atmosphere of the staff, parents, and students. It doesn’t feel like coming to working. I love seeing the students every day and to watch them as they grow.

What do you love about Lakeland/central Florida?: I was born and raised here. I love the family friendly community and the adventures that are available to my children.

Family Info and/or Interesting Fact about You: I have two beautiful girls who keep my pretty busy. I was at the game with the Tampa Bay Lightning won the Stanley Cup in 2004!
