The Polk County Youth Fair is an annual highlight for SPLS students, but 4H activities go on all school year for interested SPLS students. This includes use of the SPLS 4H Archery Range.
Our 2015-2016 4H leader is Julie Van Winkle. This year their focus is teaching students about the many habitats we have on our certified National Wildlife campus.
SPLS is a PLT Green School and a National Green Ribbon School. The 4H club continually works on the pillars of habitats, water conservation, energy conservation, recycling, health, and air quality for SPLS. As followers of God we believe God gave us the directions to protect this planet and our 4H leaders work hard to share that knowledge with students and parents.

"By far, the faculty member who has been a blessing to me the most is Mrs. Pahl. Mrs. Pahl has been a blessing to me in so many ways, like offering emotional support when I needed it most, and even praying with me when it seemed that there was no hope. She has helped me overcome so much, and I thank God that she taught me so much more than just social studies."
